MEDIA, PA – ਨਵੰਬਰ 1, 2024Senator Tim Kearney (D-Delaware) today announced a total of $17 million in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grants have been awarded to support five projects in Delaware County.

Upper Darby School District, Delaware County Intermediate Unit (DCIU), Interboro School District, William Penn School District, and Keystone Sports Entertainment LLC will receive the newly announced state funding to support infrastructure investments, expansion needs, and construction projects focused on revitalization, redevelopment, and transformative community efforts.

“I’m pleased to see that Delaware County projects will receive this vital funding, creating better learning environments for our children and enhancing community spaces that welcome families and visitors,” said Senator Kearney. “These developments will not only strengthen our community today but also help to build a foundation that will make our area more vibrant and inviting for years to come.”  

  • Upper Darby School District was awarded $1,000,000 to help with construction needs for the Clifton Heights Middle School Construction project.
  • Delaware County Intermediate Unit (DCIU) was awarded $10,000,000 for the DCIU Folcroft Renovation and Addition project, which includes the construction of an early childhood education wing.
  • Interboro School District was awarded $1,000,000 to assist with infrastructure-related needs for the Interboro High School Additions and Renovations project.  
  • Keystone Sports and Entertainment LLC was awarded $4,000,000 for the Philadelphia Union Sportsplex II project, which includes the construction of a multi-sports complex along the Chester waterfront.
  • William Penn School District was awarded $1,000,000 to help with construction-related needs for the William Penn School District II project.
