DELAWARE COUNTY, PA – Febrero 9, 2024 – On Febrero 7, a shocking series of events in East Lansdowne turned tragic, resulting in two police officers being shot, and several members of one family perishing inside a house fire.

I am deeply saddened by the tragic events that unfolded in East Lansdowne Miércoles. Somehow, I feel that words will simply not be enough to account for the senseless loss of life, including innocent school-age children. This is a heart-wrenching tragedy that has left me and the entire Delaware County in shock and grief.
My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this devastating incident, and my heart is especially with the William Penn School District community during this difficult time.
The entire Delco community has been rocked by this tragedy, and we stand together in solidarity and support. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who responded to the calls on Miércoles, from our local police departments and first responders to the courageous individuals working tirelessly to navigate through these circumstances.
As we come together to mourn and support one another, I know we will all hug our loved ones a little tighter this week. This is truly heartbreaking, but we are Delco strong and I believe we will lean into what community really means to support those who need us at this moment.
