DELAWARE COUNTY, PA – January 21, 2026– State Senator Tim Kearney (D-Delaware) announced a total of $5,833,010 in state grants for projects in the 26th Senatorial District to improve transportation and upgrade municipal water, wastewater and stormwater systems.

“I’m pleased to see these state investments supporting projects that will strengthen infrastructure and improve the quality of life across communities in my district,” said Senator Kearney. “These funds will help modernize essential systems and make our neighborhoods safer, more connected, and better positioned for the future.”

The following projects in the 26th District received $3,106,760 in grant funding through the CFA Multimodal Transportation Fund:

  • Ellis Retail II Unit Owner LLC received $134,296 to install an ADA crosswalk and make pedestrian safety upgrades at the Ellis Preserve campus in Newtown Township, Delaware County.
  • Morton Borough received $750,000 for Phase 2 improvements to the intersection of Woodland Avenue and Morton Avenue located in Morton Borough, Delaware County.
  • Ridley Township received $1,400,000 for pedestrian safety improvements on MacDade Boulevard in Ridley Township, Delaware County.
  • Swarthmore Borough received $218,400 for pedestrian crossing improvements along Swarthmore Borough located in Swarthmore Borough, Delaware County.
  • Upper Providence Township received $604,064 to construct pedestrian safety and accessibility upgrades along SR 252 located in Upper Providence Township, Delaware County.

The following projects in the 26th District received $2,726,250 in grant funding through the PA Small Water and Sewer Program:

  • Marple Township received $75,000 for Marple Township Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation
  • Ridley Park Borough received $200,000 for Ridley Park – Sanitary Sewer I&I Reduction Project
  • Swarthmore Borough received $170,000 for Yale Ave Stormwater Management Project
  • Central Delaware County Authority received $100,000 for CDCA – Sanitary Sewer I&I Abatement Program
  • Darby Creek Joint Authority received $275,000 for Darby Creek Interceptor MH 99-98 Relining
  • Rutledge Borough received $255,000 for Rutledge Borough – Triangle Park Stormwater Management Facility – Phase 2
  • Clifton Heights Borough received $500,000 for Stormwater Pipe Replacement Project
  • Ridley Township received $250,000 for Ridley Township – Leedom Area Stormwater Improvements
  • Upper Providence Township Sewer Authority received $318,750 for UPTSA-Greenhill Rd Sewer Replacement
  • Lansdowne Borough received $382,500 for Lansdowne Borough – Small Sewer – Baltimore & Lansdowne Ave.
  • Morton Borough received $200,000 for Morton Borough – Central Morton Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation
