Constituent Relations Associate
SUMMARY:
Delaware County Democratic State Senator is seeking applicants for an entry level team member in a fast-paced district office. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engage with constituents in person, telephone, and email communications and logs all interactions in constituent database.
- Provide administrative support to the constituent relations team as needed.
- Help constituents (residents of the district) access basic state services and benefits like SEPTA key cards.
- Learn subject matter knowledge of government departments (such as veterans issues, senior issues, government assistance, and/or child services).
- Familiarize yourself and build relationships with community resources, non-profits and municipal leaders to better serve the needs of our constituents.
- Take part executing community outreach events, such as senior center visits, town halls, parades, community days, and health fairs.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma
- 2+ years working directly with customers or comparable experience engaging with a wide variety of people
- Good communication skills – written and oral
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Possess a “problem solver” mentality
- Bilingual or multi-lingual (advantageous)
- BA in related health and human services field (advantageous)
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including some nights and weekends required
- Access to reliable transportation for events and other travel needs required
- Deep knowledge and proficiency of the 26th Senate District Senator Timothy P. Kearney – PA State Senate.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred candidates will be familiar with state government and the legislative process and possess exceptional written and verbal communications skills. Ability to multitask, work independently and quickly change priorities needed. Skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Bilingual with fluency in English and Spanish, or other languages.

SUMMARY:
Democratic State Senator is seeking applicants for a legislative administrative position in their Harrisburg office. The ideal candidate will be able to manage a complex and ever-changing schedule. This position involves high-level contacts and exposure to confidential materials that will require the use of tact, discretion, and judgement. This individual must be able to transition from a fast-paced working environment to one that is quieter and requires independent initiative to move work forward. Some experience in a professional office setting is a plus.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answer Harrisburg phone line and direct messages to the appropriate staff
- Greet visitors to Harrisburg office and take care of constituent needs such as arranging tours and preparing citations
- Handle all phone, email, and scheduling correspondence for a Pennsylvania state senator across three offices
- Handle and submit all senate expenses for office staff and monitor department and committee budgets
- Coordinate with Chief of Staff, Legislative Director, District Director and Communications Director on day-to-day needs
- Optimize the senator’s time by staying on top of schedule and helping with issue and constituent preparation for key meetings and initiating communications
- Independently research complex inquiries to recommend solutions / escalate issues as appropriate
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good communication skills
