HARRISBURG − December 19, 2019 – Sen. Tim Kearney (D – Delaware, Chester) today announced his appointment as Minority Chair of the Senate Communications & Technology Committee.

“I am honored to serve as the lead Democrat on this committee,” said Kearney. “Communications and technology are two of the biggest drivers of our rapidly-evolving economy. In my new role, I look forward to working with Chairwoman Phillips-Hill and other committee members to close the digital divide, empower consumers, and modernize our economy.”

The committee, chaired by Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R – York), oversees legislative efforts on improving access to high-speed internet across the Commonwealth, protecting consumers from data breaches, and ensuring overall state technology efficiency and improvement.

Kearney has served on the committee since taking office in January. He also serves as Minority Chair of the Local Government Committee and as a member of the Labor & Industry, Transportation, and Urban Affairs & Housing Committees.
