DELAWARE COUNTY, PA – February 25, 2025 – Sen. Tim Kearney (D-Delaware) today announced a total of $1,711,038 in Multimodal Transportation grant funding approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) has been awarded to four Delaware County municipalities to support roadway safety improvements and infrastructure upgrades throughout the 26th District.
“Reliable and safe roadways are essential for daily life—whether you’re commuting to work, running errands, or just walking around town,” said Senator Kearney. “These grants will help fix our roads, modernize our streets, and make our roadways in Clifton Heights, Morton, Newtown Township and Springfield safer, ensuring a smoother, safer journey for everyone.”
26th District Multimodal Transportation Funding Awardees:
- Clifton Heights Borough received $200,000 for assistance with Phase 2 of the N. Springfield Road Corridor Improvements project.
- Morton Borough received $250,000 for help with the Woodland Avenue and Morton Avenue Intersection Modernization project.
- Newtown Township was awarded $85,250 for assistance with installing new sidewalks along the Bishop Hollow Road corridor.
- Springfield Township was awarded $1,175,788 for roadway safety improvements to support a mixed-use development in Springfield Township.
