SPRINGFIELD, PA – December 14, 2022 – Senator Tim Kearney (D-Delaware) today announced that more than $4.7 million in Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) funding has been awarded to eight entities in the 26th Senatorial District.

Glenolden Borough, Lansdowne Borough, Prospect Park Borough, Upper Darby Township, Delaware County, Family Support Line of Delaware County, Inc., Domestic Abuse Project of Delaware County, Inc., and Delaware County Victim Assistance Center were awarded a combined total of $4,790,463 for various needs related to system updates, and continuity of County government, legal and social services.
The PCCD funding sources include grants from Federal American Rescue Plan Act Funds – Local Law Enforcement Support Grant Program, Federal American Rescue Plan Act Funds – Gun Violence Investigation and Prosecution Grant Program, State Children’s Advocacy Center Funds, and Federal Victims of Crime Act, State Rights and Services Act, and State Victims of Juvenile Offenders Funds.

“This funding is a win for Delaware County and will ensure that our local municipalities have the infrastructure, and updated technology to support our local law enforcement,” said Senator Kearney. “I’m also extremely excited we were able to allocate more ARPA dollars through the Federal Victims of Crimes Act. Our local community partners depend on these resources, and the funding will ensure that critical services remain available to people who may need them.”

  • $1,003,127 awarded to Delaware County through the Federal American Rescue Plan Act Funds – Gun Violence Investigation and Prosecution Grant Program to help with system and server upgrades, officer and staff training, and purchasing of equipment and accessories.
  • $322,202 was granted to Delaware County through the Federal Victims of Crime Act, State Rights and Services Act, and State Victims of Juvenile Offenders Funds for the Juvenile/Probation victim services for 2023-2024.
  • $93,514 was awarded to Delaware County through the Federal Victims of Crime Act, State Rights and Services Act, and State Victims of Juvenile Offenders Funds for court financial services and Rights and Services Act (RASA).
  • $366,097 was granted to Delaware County Victim Assistance Center through the Federal Victims of Crime Act, State Rights and Services Act, and State Victims of Juvenile Offenders Funds for Rights and Services Act costs for 2023-2024.
  • $208,620 was awarded to Domestic Abuse Project of Delaware County, Inc. through the Federal Victims of Crime Act, State Rights and Services Act, and State Victims of Juvenile Offenders Funds for legal advocacy services.
  • $242,000 was granted to Glenolden Borough through the Federal American Rescue Plan Act Funds – Local Law Enforcement Support Grant Program to upgrade the records management system.
  • $119,000 was awarded to Lansdowne Borough through the Federal American Rescue Plan Act Funds – Local Law Enforcement Support Grant Program to upgrade the record management system and purchase and install community pole cameras.
  • $150,672 was granted to Prospect Park Borough through the Federal American Rescue Plan Act Funds – Local Law Enforcement Support Grant Program to support upgrades to the records management system, software and technology, and automated license plate readers and intersection cameras.
  • $2,238,231 was awarded to Upper Darby Township through the Federal American Rescue Plan Act Funds – Local Law Enforcement Support Grant Program to upgrade the record management system and server. As well as assistance for police equipment and accessories, retention pay and staff training.
